Synonyms and Alternate Names:
Pterygoneurum smardaeanum Vanek
Pterygoneurum subsessile sometimes has capsules hidden among the leaves similar to P. kozlovii, but its capsules are urn-shaped and have a distinct lid (operculum) that falls off prior to shedding spores. Pterygoneurum lamellatum and P. ovatum also have an operculum, and their capsules extend well beyond the tips of the leaves (COSEWIC 2004p; McIntosh 2007; Zander 2007).
